The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board has released the re-examination dates for the police constable recruitment. The written exams for direct recruitment-2023 for 60,244 posts of constable civil police are now scheduled for August 23, 24, 25, and 30, 31, 2024. This comes after the initial exam was cancelled due to allegations of rigging.
The UP Police constable recruitment exam was cancelled in February 2024 following a paper leak. At that time, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath assured that the exam would be rescheduled within six months. Now, comprehensive security measures have been put in place to prevent any malpractice during the upcoming exams.
To further ensure fairness, the Uttar Pradesh government implemented the Uttar Pradesh Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Ordinance 2024 on July 1, 2024. This ordinance categorizes acts such as paper leaks, answer sheet tampering, and other unfair practices as crimes punishable by fines up to one crore rupees, life imprisonment, or both.
