Stray cattle emerged as a major election issue in the UP-Assembly election, with opposition parties sharply criticizing the Yogi government on the issue.

Beginning in Bareilly, the UP government plans to produce compressed natural gas (CNG) from cow dung. A cow dung gas plant will be built in the state soon, and dung will be purchased for Rs1.5/kg. According to the government, livestock farmers will benefit directly from this, and their income will increase.

The state government is working toward a long-term solution to this issue, which has received political attention during his previous tenure.

The Yogi government's Dung CNG Plant Scheme (Dung CNG Plant Scheme) will primarily benefit the state's farmers. The government will purchase cow dung from cattle farmers under this scheme because they will profit greatly.

The government will purchase cow dung from cattle owners for Rs 1.50 per kg, and this dung will be used entirely for the production of cow dung plants.

Dharampal Singh, Uttar Pradesh's Animal Husbandry and Milk Development Minister, has previously stated that work on creating cow dung plants in the state will begin soon.

Apart from that, Animal Husbandry and Milk Development Minister Dharampal Singh stated that farmers in Bareilly will be free of stray animals roaming the streets as well as entering fields and destroying crops within a year.

Significantly, stray cattle emerged as a major election issue in the UP-Assembly election, with opposition parties sharply criticizing the Yogi government on the issue.

Advantage of Bio Gas Plant

  • Because dung is only collected directly from farms on a daily basis, labour requirements for handling dung will be reduced.

  • It will save land utilization otherwise it will take up space in their farms to store dung.

  • It will improve farm and village hygiene and sanitation because dung will not be stored nearby. This will benefit both the health of the animals and the farmers/villagers.

  • The environment must be safeguarded because it will significantly reduce the greenhouse effect.

  • Farmers will receive highly nutrient- and micromineral-rich manure.

  • It will reduce the use of fossil fuels by providing renewable and clean energy.
