The Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, Narendra Singh Tomar, on Thursday, May 18, officially introduced the renowned organic queen pineapple of Tripura during an event held in Delhi.
Other eminent personalities were also present at the event, including Ratan Lal Nath, the Minister of Agriculture, Farmers' Welfare, Energy, and Parliamentary Affairs from Tripura. During the program, Tomar emphasized the Government of India's commitment to prioritize the development of the Northeast region under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He highlighted the consistent efforts of the central government and expressed satisfaction in witnessing the rapid progress of Tripura and other Northeastern states.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has visited the Northeast region at least 52 times in order to solve the problems raised by the people and ensure development. Further, the Ministry of Development of the North-eastern Region (DoNER) has implemented these schemes.
The central government is currently implementing a mission for oil palm cultivation. Tomar praised the success of organic farming in the Northeast region. While Sikkim has already been declared an organic state, Tripura is making commendable progress on the same path. He highlighted the significant advancements in agriculture across the Northeastern states. Products from the region have gained recognition globally and increased exports.
The event showcased the uniqueness, quality, and health benefits of Tripura's organic queen pineapple through a testing session.
