Union Minister of Ayush and Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, inaugurated the new office building of the National Commission of Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) at Punjabi Bagh (West) today. In his address, he underscored Ayush's trajectory towards becoming a global leader in holistic health and wellness.
A Decade of Growth: Ayush's Journey
Highlighting the transformative journey of Ayush, Minister Sonowal credited the whole government approach of the Indian government for Ayush's remarkable growth. Since the establishment of the Ministry of Ayush in 2014, significant strides have been made in promoting traditional Indian medicine systems globally. Minister Sonowal praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visionary leadership for Ayush's unprecedented expansion, which has garnered recognition worldwide for its efficacy and inclusivity.
NCISM's Role in Advancing Ayush Education
Minister Sonowal commended the pivotal role of NCISM in advancing Ayush education through innovative approaches and interactive learning modules. He emphasized the growing global acceptance of Indian traditional medicine systems, placing greater responsibility on the Ayush sector to ensure excellence in education, health delivery, and product quality.
Inauguration of Padam Shree and Padam Bhusan Vaidya Devendra Triguna Sadan
During the ceremony, the Union Minister also inaugurated the new building of the "Padam Shree and Padam Bhusan Vaidya Devendra Triguna Sadan" of the Akhil Bhartiya Ayurveda Mahasamelan. Additionally, he unveiled the book titled 'Ayurveda Kritattva Parichya Kosh,' authored by RAV Guru, Vaidya Tarachand Sharma.
Commendations and Achievements
In a video message, Union Minister of State for Ayush and Women and Child Development, Dr. Munjpara Mahendrabhai, lauded the Ministry of Ayush's achievements over the past decade. Secretary of the Ministry of Ayush, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, highlighted the commendable work of both NCISM and the National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH) in aligning Ayush education with the New Education Policy 2020. NCISM Chairman, Vaidya Jayant Deo Pujari, underscored the pioneering contributions of the commission.
The inaugural session witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including Vaidya Devendra Triguna, Chairman of Akhil Bhartiya Ayurveda Mahasammelan, Dr. (Prof.) Tanuja Nesari, Director of AIIA, Dr. Meena Kumari, Director of NIS, and Dr. Sanjeev Sharma, Vice Chancellor of NIA Jaipur, among others, alongside representatives from various organizations and NCISM office bearers.
