
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will visit Punjab’s flood-affected areas tomorrow (September 04, 2025) to assess damage caused by heavy rains and widespread flooding. Ahead of his visit, Minister spoke with the Governor and the Chief Minister of Punjab to review the situation and coordinate relief efforts.
Chouhan assured that the Central Government is fully committed to supporting Punjab during this crisis. Posting on X, he said, “I discussed the flood situation arising due to heavy rainfall in Punjab with the Honorable Governor, Chief Minister Ji, and Agriculture Minister Ji, and obtained detailed information. I will reach Punjab tomorrow morning and meet my brothers and sisters in the flood-affected areas. In this hour of crisis, Central Government stands firmly with the brothers and sisters of Punjab and will provide all possible assistance.”
Minister will arrive in Amritsar tomorrow morning and visit districts severely affected by the floods. He will meet farmers, understand their losses, and assess the impact on crops. After the field visits, Chouhan will hold a high-level meeting with officials to discuss relief measures and ensure prompt assistance to the affected communities.
Last Monday, Minister had chaired a high-level meeting in Delhi, expressing concern over the flood situation and the resulting crop losses. He had assured that the Central Government stands with the farmers and will provide all necessary support.
With floods continuing to affect large parts of Punjab, the visit by Chouhan is seen as a crucial step in the government’s efforts to provide relief and coordinate recovery measures for state’s agricultural community.
