The Unique Identification Authority of India, or UIDAI, provided a helpline number and some usage hygiene guidelines for Aadhaar on Friday. When using any other identity documents, such as a PAN card or passport, the organization that controls Aadhaar operations in the nation suggested taking caution when exchanging Aadhaar information.

Aadhaar serves as a single point of access for both online and offline identification verification for citizens nationwide. The citizens can online or offline verify their identity credentials using their Aadhaar number.

UIDAI Issued the following 5 Guidelines for Using Adhaar Card:

If you do not want to reveal your Aadhaar information, UIDAI can help you create a Virtual Identifier (VID). To do this, go to the UIDAI website or the myAadhaar portal and use that instead of the Aadhaar number while trying to verify. After the calendar day has ended, this VID can be changed.

If it has been decided in advance that you won't use your biometrics or Aadhaar for a particular period of time, you can lock them both. They are easily and quickly unlocked once they have been used once more.

The PVC (polyvinyl chloride) card or Aadhaar letter, or a copy of it either, should never be left unattended.

Additionally, it is not advisable to disclose Aadhaar information in the open on public forums like social media. Holders of an Aadhaar should not disclose their OTP to any unauthorized parties and should not reveal their m-Aadhaar PIN to anyone.

On the UIDAI website or the m-Aadhaar app, you can view the last six months of your Aadhaar authentication history. UIDAI also informs about every authentication by email in order to check for any potential fraud. A user will receive a notification each time his or her Aadhaar number is authenticated if their email address is linked to their Aadhaar.

You can reach UIDAI by phone at the toll-free helpline 1947, which is open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, or by email, at [email protected] if you suspect any unauthorized use of Aadhaar or have any other questions.
