Top union ministers, senior RSS functionaries, and a slew of educationists, including vice-chancellors and principals, will meet in the capital for a three-day 'Shiksha ka Mahakumb' event to share field experiences on the implementation of the National Education Policy and make recommendations to the government for the future.
Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, an RSS affiliate, will host the event, which will take place from November 17 to 19, with academic partners including the UGC, IGNOU, AICTE, and the Association of Indian Universities. Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi and Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Tomar will inaugurate the event in the capital.
According to Nyas secretary Atul Kothari, the event will primarily focus on how educational institutes, society, NGOs, and other stakeholders can collaborate to implement the NEP and further India's goal of self-sufficiency.
"The best NEP implementation models will be featured in a special exhibition that will open on the first day. Stakeholders will be able to identify challenges in NEP implementation on the ground so that solutions can be developed, "Kothari explained.
Pankaj Mittal, secretary-general of the AIU, stated that the third day would feature discussions on agriculture, law, and health education, topics not previously covered by the NEP.
The event will be attended by Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Skills Minister Rajeev Chandrashekhar, senior RSS functionary Arun Kumar, and ICCR chief Vinay Sahasrabuddhe to hear about stakeholder experiences. V-Cs will attend it from over 100 universities as well as over 4,000 teachers, parents, and students.
