Starting with weather system across India - a fragile Western Disturbance over Afghanistan while another is over Jammu & Kashmir and neighboring parts of Pakistan. Its induced Cyclonic Circulation is over Central Pakistan. In addition, a Cyclonic Circulation also persists over East Bangladesh. Due to all these weather systems there will be rainfall and snowfall along with thunderstorms in many parts of the country today.
During the last 24 hours Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh & Uttarakhand witnessed fairly widespread moderate to heavy rainfall and snowfall. Northern plains that includes Haryana, Punjab, parts of Delhi & NCR and Northwest Uttar Pradesh also experienced intense showers and thundershowers a day before.
Parts of Delhi & NCR saw mild rainfall and hailstorm on 28 November 2019 which brought down the temperature with a slight improvement in the city’s air quality. The AQI stood at 109, in the “moderate” category.
There was scattered light rainfall over Eastern parts of Rajasthan while moderate to heavy showers took place in Tamil Nadu and South coastal Andhra Pradesh. A few places in Kerala, South Interior Karnataka and Rayalaseema also witnessed light rainfall.
Due to rain and snow, the minimum temperature has dropped by 2-3 degree Celsius in North and Central India mainly in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Ladakh, parts of Rajasthan, Gujarat and National Capital.
Weather in India during the next 24 hours
As per the weather department, scattered rainfall, snowfall and thundershowers will continue at higher reaches over the Himalayas for the next 24 hours. Light showers are also expected over the foothills of Punjab, Haryana and parts of West Uttar Pradesh. Arunachal Pradesh may witness isolated rainfall at some parts.
Light to moderate rainfall along with a few heavy spells are likely over Tamil Nadu. There are possibilities of isolated showers over South Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema & South coast of Andhra Pradesh. Scattered rains may occur over Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep. Last but not the least Kerala could witness scattered rainfall in the weekend.
