"Indian agriculture or farmers were not considered progressive in the global arena until the MFOI Awards happened last year as the image of Indian agriculture has changed drastically," said Michiel Van Erkel, Agriculture Counsellor, the Netherlands during a meet with MC Dominic, Founder and Editor-in-Chief Krishi Jagran on Tuesday, February 6.
Reflecting on the transformative impact of the MFOI Awards, Michiel Van Erkel emphasized, "Until the inception of the MFOI Awards, the global perception of Indian agriculture and its farmers lacked the recognition they deserved. However, this paradigm-shifting initiative has magnificently altered that narrative."
In short, he meant, MFOI has shattered the perceived notion of misconception built about the farming sector in India.
Moreover, he appreciated the idea of farmers coming from different parts of the world interacting under one roof during the Millionaire Farmer of India Awards.

The Agriculture Counsellor, Michiel Van Erkel also gave a hint that the progressive farmers from the Kingdom of the Netherlands might also be participating in the Millionaire Farmer of India Awards. Farmers in the Netherlands practice dairy farming or floriculture.
"The Millionaire Farmer of India is inspiring not only for the farmers in India but across the globe," he added.
