
Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal is set to inaugurate the second edition of Startup Mahakumbh today at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Scheduled from April 3-5, 2025, the event aims to propel India's economic growth and showcase its entrepreneurial spirit on a global stage. Minister of State for Commerce & Industry and Electronics & IT, Jitin Prasada, will also deliver a special address during the inauguration.
This year’s Startup Mahakumbh promises an unprecedented scale of participation, bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, and industry leaders to foster innovation and collaboration. One of the key highlights of this edition is the active participation of tribal entrepreneurs, with over 45 startups set to take the stage, including those incubated at prestigious institutions like IIM Calcutta, IIM Kashipur, and IIT Bhilai.
Sanjiv, Joint Secretary at DPIIT, described the event as a grand confluence of industry leaders and startups from across India and the world. “Startup Mahakumbh will be a true ‘sangam’ of startup and industry ‘MahaRathis’ from districts across India and beyond—Jile se Jagat tak.
With participation from multiple districts and over 50 countries, the event offers immense opportunities for collaboration. From an Indian-made flying taxi to Nepal’s two-stage hybrid rocket engine, this year’s event will feature groundbreaking innovations,” he said.
The inaugural edition of Startup Mahakumbh witnessed an overwhelming response, with over 48,581 business visitors engaging with 1,306 exhibitors, including leading startups, unicorns, and soonicorns. The event also brought together over 300 incubators and accelerators, alongside 200+ angel investors, venture capitalists, and family offices.
Organized by FICCI, ASSOCHAM, IVCA, and Bootstrap Advisory & Foundation, and supported by SIDBI, GEM, ECGC, MeitY, and DPIIT Startup India, the event will serve as a launchpad for transformative ideas and groundbreaking discussions over the next three days.
