Dr. Prem Kumar, Agriculture Minister, Bihar said the skill development training is set to bring into operation for the unemployed youth and women along with farmers in the state to enhance their skills and provide professional knowledge. The main objective of this scheme is to provide them a quality skill training to get them self-employed.
A total of 23 courses have been approved under the skill training program, for the agriculture and related sectors. Currently, skill training will be executed in 16 courses on mushroom cultivation, vermicompost processing, beekeeping, seed producer, organic farming, rooftop gardening, floriculture, seed analysis,
agricultural equipment operations, farm mechanism and maintenance and micro-irrigation techniques etc. The state-level programs will be organized for the courses at various centre, following as Bihar Agricultural University, Sabaur, Bhagalpur and its Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Agriculture colleges, and in all the districts as skill training centers. More than six thousand youths, women, and individuals of the state will be provided self-employment through 70 training institutions, by imparting skill training in 16 courses of agriculture.
In order to take advantage of this scheme, the interested person can submit an application in the office of the project director of his district or nearest agricultural science centers. With the implementation of this scheme, a steady pool of skilled workers will be developed in the state, so that in the coming time, skilled craftsmen will be able to meet industrial and business establishments according to their demand and quality materials and inputs will be created in the establishments. Along with this, it will also encourage industrial and commercial establishments. This program will increase the production and productivity of crops, thereby increasing the income of farmers and entrepreneurs in the field of agriculture.
