In the Kalamb taluk of Yavatmal district, the Agriculture Department received a tip-off about the unloading of fertilizers and pesticides from a truck bearing the registration number MH15 FV 3434. Acting on this information, a joint operation was conducted by the team led by Kalamb Taluk Agriculture Officer Shubhrakant Bhagat and Panchayat Samiti Agriculture Officer Nilesh Bhoyer.
During the operation, the authorities discovered 400 suspicious bags of fertilizer, 36 boxes of crop growth agents, and 10 different types of crop growth agents in the truck. The total value of these items is estimated to be Rs 6,03,729, said a news report.
It was found that Vinod Dattatray Omkar attempted to store these goods in a rented house belonging to Gajanan Kherde, but they were unable to obtain the necessary storage license. Additionally, a complaint was lodged against two companies, Organic Opportunity Company from Nashik and Name Organic from Narkhed, Nagpur, in connection with this incident.
According to the news report, a case was registered against Ashok Bhate, a seller of HTBT seeds located near Deshmukh Lawn in Amravati. The case was filed at the Gadge Nagar police station. As a result of this action, a total of 442 seed packets (worth Rs. 3,67,104) and a Mahindra cargo vehicle (valued at Rs. 5,00,000) were seized, with the total value of confiscated goods amounting to Rs. 8,77,104.
