Sagar Parikrama Phase V: Union Minister Rupala Distributes KCCs & E-Shram Cards at Raigad

Union Minister Parshottam Rupala has taken charge of the fifth phase of the Sagar Parikrama Programme, commencing from the iconic Gateway of India. Addressing stakeholders at Karanja Jetty in Raigad, Maharashtra, the minister emphasized the government's commitment to the welfare of the fishing community.

During the event at Karanja Jetty, Minister Rupala distributed Kisan Credit Cards and E-Shram cards to beneficiaries. Upon his arrival, he received a warm traditional welcome from the local community, highlighting the significance of the occasion.

Speaking at the event, Minister Parshottam Rupala underlined the impact of the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, which showcases the government's deep interest in the well-being of the fishermen community. He also highlighted the substantial increase in the program's budget, amounting to 20,000 crores, and the continuous efforts to make additional provisions as necessary.

In the subsequent leg of the program, the minister will be heading to the RGPPL Jetty in Dabhol, Ratnagiri district. It is important to recognize the pivotal role of the fisheries sector in India, contributing significantly to the nation's economy and providing livelihoods for millions of fisherfolk.

India stands as the world's third-largest fish producer and the second-largest aquaculture producer, demonstrating the importance of the Blue Revolution in the country.

The Government of India has adopted a holistic approach to meet the Sustainable Development Goals and enhance the quality of life and economic well-being of rural communities. This comprehensive strategy aims to create more livelihood opportunities for people in rural areas, ensuring sustainable growth and prosperity.

Under the leadership of Union Minister Parshottam Rupala, the Sagar Parikrama Programme continues to foster engagement with stakeholders, promote the welfare of the fishing community, and propel the growth of the fisheries, animal husbandry, and dairying sectors in India.

The government's commitment to these sectors remains steadfast, as they play a vital role in shaping the nation's progress and uplifting the lives of its people.
