Rythu Sammelanam started today, i.e. February 28, 2024, marking a significant milestone in the progress of agricultural education and innovation in Andhra Pradesh. It is organized by Krishi Jagran in association with Centurion University. The two-day conference is set to continue until February 29, 2024. The event was inaugurated by Andhra Pradesh's Education Minister, Botsa Satyanarayana, who graced the occasion as the chief guest. Over 2000 farmers, accompanied by agri-scientists and professors, participated in it, sharing their invaluable insights and experiences.

The inauguration of the event started with the lamp-lighting ceremony by Chief Guest Botsa Satyanarayana. The melodious chants of Vedic mantras enveloped the university grounds, creating a divine ambience during the inauguration. He also inaugurated the School of Smart Agriculture in Centurion University of Technology and Management (CUTM).

The ceremony witnessed the presence of numerous prominent figures including B. Chandra Sekhar, Member of Parliament from Vizianagaram, Dr. P.V.V. Suryanarayan Raju, MLC, B. Appala Naidu, MLA, B. Appalanarasayya, MLA, M.C. Dominic, Founder & Editor-in-Chief of Krishi Jagran, and representatives from Centurion University of Technology and Management, including Prof. D.N. Rao, Vice President, Prof. G.S.N. Raju, Chancellor, Prof. P.K. Mohanty, Vice Chancellor, Dr. P. Pallavi, Registrar, and Dr. G. Pushpalatha, Dean (Agriculture) and Dr. Saurav Braman from CUTM, Odisha.

Rythu Sammelanam: Showcasing Agricultural Advancements

Numerous agri-tech companies participated in the event, showcasing the latest advancements in agriculture through a variety of stalls. Farmers had the opportunity to explore cutting-edge agricultural machinery, new seed varieties, and other farm inputs available in the market. This platform facilitated dialogue and exchange of information between farmers and dealers, promoting marketing opportunities for agri-tech companies.

The primary objective of the conference is to foster dialogue, collaboration, and innovation in the agricultural sector. With participation from various agricultural equipment companies, seed companies, irrigation companies, fertilizer, and pesticide companies, the event promises to drive the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and practices in agriculture.

The goal of the smart agriculture school, according to CUTM Vice-President D.N. Rao and Chancellor G.S.N. Raju, is to provide professional training for students to support the adoption of new technologies and simultaneous cultivation of multiple crops, thereby transforming agricultural activity into a viable profession.

Rythu Sammelanam emerges as a leading platform for knowledge exchange, capacity building, and transformative partnerships in the agriculture sector. Companies like Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd., Kubota Agricultural Machinery, Aries Agro Limited, Indian Potash Limited, National Seeds Corporation Ltd., IFFCO, Garuda Aerospace Pvt. Ltd., Indogulf Cropsciences Ltd., Eicher Tractors, Powertrac Industries Limited, Man Agro Industries, among others, participated in the event, showcasing their contributions to agricultural advancement.

A highlight of the conference is an interactive session dedicated to farmers, providing them with invaluable insights and information to enhance their farming practices.
