On the occasion, an event was organized by the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying in collaboration with the Veterinary Council of India at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi to acknowledge and celebrate the vital contributions made by veterinarians across the nation.
The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Parshottam Rupala, Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, who served as the chief guest. Along with him, Dr. Sanjeev Balyan, Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, and Dr. L Murugan, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, were present at the Mega event. Various stakeholders from the veterinary profession were also invited to attend the mega event.
At the beginning of the event, the President of the Veterinary Council of India delivered some opening remarks, setting the tone for the rest of the proceedings. The eminent guest panel also launched the Veterinary Council of India portal and released the draft of Minimum Standards of Veterinary Practice Regulations, 2023 with the list of outstanding veterinarians.
After that, Parshottam Rupala, the chief guest, delivered a speech that highlighted the importance of sustainable livestock farming and the crucial role of veterinarians in achieving it. He also acknowledged the efforts of veterinarians in implementing various schemes and programs related to animal husbandry and dairying.
During the event, the Union Minister spoke about the launch of the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) portal, emphasizing the government's commitment to the Digital India mission. He highlighted how the portal would enable people to address their grievances related to veterinary services more efficiently and quickly.
Moreover, the event included an award felicitation ceremony to honor the exceptional efforts and services provided by veterinarians across the nation. This ceremony recognized and appreciated the valuable contributions of vets towards the growth and development of animal husbandry and dairying in the country.
