As per the information provided by the ministry of defence, this year's Republic Day festivities will be held on the newly renovated Central Vista road, and the government has made 32,000 tickets available for the general public to purchase online.

Following Rajpath's renaming to 'Kartavya Path' the previous year, this will be the first Republic Day festivities held at the formal boulevard. The ministry announced that all formal invitations to the ceremonial event would be distributed online for the first time.

In a news conference by Defense Secretary Giridhar Aramane at the South Block in New Delhi on Wednesday, a presentation on the festivities for Republic Day that would take place from January 23–31 was provided to the media.

"e-invitations have taken the place of paper invitation cards for attendees and onlookers this year. A separate website for the purpose called amantran.mod.gov.in has been established for this purpose. Through this, gateway, tickets, admission cards, invitation cards, and parking stickers will be sold and issued online", the official told.

This will make the entire procedure more secure and paperless and make it possible for people from all over the nation to participate in this national event, he added.

The official also stated that over 1 lakh people used to attend the Republic Day celebrations before COVID-19, but this number was substantially reduced in the years immediately after the pandemic's onset in India (in early 2020). This year, it is anticipated that 42,000 people will attend, and 32,000 tickets for seats at the event have been made available online.

Further, people who have been invited to the 74th Republic Day celebrations and those who have digital tickets for seats at the event can take the metro for free to the two stations close to Raisina Hill on January 26.

The Kartavya Path is close to the metro stations at Udyog Bhawan and Central Secretariat. While Central Secretariat Station serves as an interchange between the Yellow Line and the Violet Line. The Udyog Bhawan Station is located on the Yellow Line.
