The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for seven districts of Maharashtra and warned that Gujarat, Goa, and coastal Karnataka are also likely to see significant rainfall beginning on July 12. A red alert was issued for Kolhapur, Palghar, Nashik, Pune, and Ratnagiri, while an orange alert was issued for Mumbai for the following three days.
According to officials, the city and its suburbs will likely have moderate rainfall over the next 24 hours, with isolated areas perhaps experiencing torrential downpours.
Mumbai did, however, see some light rain on Monday. While Santacruz received 9.2 mm of rain, the Colaba observatory only recorded 7 mm. The rest of Mumbai experienced an average rainfall of 20 mm, with the exception of Kalyan and Dombivli, which saw 40–60 mm of rain.
Rainfall Prediction for North India:
The IMD has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in numerous areas of the country as heavy rains continue to cause havoc there. For the following three to four days, the focus will be on Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Karnataka, and Kerala. Numerous locations are still underwater, disturbing daily life.
Most locations in Rajasthan experienced moderate rainfall, while a few isolated locations experienced significant rainfall throughout the course of the last 24 hours ending Monday morning, according to weather officials.
According to the meteorological department, Nainwa in the Bundi district had 13 cm of rain, Dholpur had 12 cm, and Laxmangarh in Sikar had 10 cm as of Monday morning. Less than 10 cm of rain fell in various locations in the Sirohi, Banswara, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Ajmer, Churu, Bikaner, and Jhunjhun districts during this time.
The next 24 hours are expected to bring isolated areas of heavy rain in the districts of Baran, Kota, Jhalawar, and Chittorgarh.
Rainfall Prediction for Telangana & Karnataka:
On Monday, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao held a high-level review conference to discuss the state's ongoing heavy rainfall.
Red, yellow, and orange warnings were issued by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) for the state of Telangana. Since Sunday, heavy to extremely heavy rains have been falling in eight districts across the state.
All officials, MLAs, and ministers were given orders by the chief minister to maintain a state of high alert and launch timely rescue efforts as needed. Beginning on Tuesday, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai will travel to the rain-affected districts of Kodagu, Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, and Udupi and provide instructions to the authorities on what relief measures to implement.
