New Delhi, June 23: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Delhi and adjoining NCR regions including Gurugram, Faridabad, Noida, and Ghaziabad, as the Capital braces for rain and thunderstorms over the next few days.
According to the IMD’s latest forecast, Delhi is likely to experience light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by lightning, gusty winds, and generally cloudy skies from June 23 to June 26. The department also confirmed that conditions are favourable for the southwest monsoon to advance into Delhi within the next two days.
In the past 24 hours, both maximum and minimum temperatures dipped, offering much-needed relief from the summer heat. Maximum temperatures ranged between 34°C and 36°C, while the minimum stayed around 25°C to 28°C. The maximum was 2 to 7 degrees below normal, and the minimum was 1 to 3 degrees below normal for this time of year. Winds shifted throughout the day, starting from the east in the morning and gradually varying in direction, reaching speeds of up to 18 kmph by evening.
