During his two-day visit to Karnataka, where elections are imminent, Rahul Gandhi has planned to meet with sugarcane farmers and engage with the youth before delivering a public speech on Monday

As per his schedule, the former AICC president first met with sugarcane growers in Ramdurg, Belagavi district at 2 p.m., then proceed to Gadag for a session called 'Yuva Samvaad' (engagement with youngsters). 

Rahul Gandhi visited the neighboring constituency of Hangal in Haveri district, where Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai is contesting for the Shiggaon district seat. In the evening, Gandhi addressed a public gathering in Hangal.

After that, the Congress leader traveled to Hubballi to catch an aircraft back to Delhi.

Upon his arrival in Karnataka on Sunday, Gandhi commemorated the birth anniversary of the 12th-century poet and social reformer Basaveshwara by paying his respects at his resting place in Kudala Sangama. This day is celebrated as 'Basava Jayanti' in the state.

Rahul Gandhi led an impressive roadshow in Vijayapura, Karnataka on Sunday, just ahead of the highly anticipated Karnataka Assembly elections. Standing atop a specially arranged truck, Gandhi enthusiastically waved to the massive and enthusiastic audience that had gathered on both sides of the street. The crowd, comprising of locals and supporters, chanted 'Rahul, Rahul' slogans and cheered loudly as Gandhi acknowledged them with his gestures. The roadshow created an electric atmosphere, with the excitement palpable among the gathered masses as Gandhi connected with them during the event.

He began the roadshow by garlanding Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's statue.

M B Patil, chairman of the Karnataka Congress campaign committee, and several other party leaders and members accompanied Gandhi on the roadshow.
