IIT-Engineering Kharagpur's and Technology discipline was ranked fourth in the country and 82nd globally. According to the rankings released on Friday, it ranked second in Architecture and Built Environment, Material Science, Environmental Sciences, Accounting and Finance, Economics, and Ergonomics.
"With its multimodal curriculum that fosters creativity, capacity building, inexpensive healthcare, and rapid technological amalgamation, IIT-Kharagpur differentiates apart from other IITs."
"As an Institute of Eminence, we must seize opportunities in the digital economy arena, boost skill development, and encourage entrepreneurship," said VK Tewari, director of IIT-Kharagpur.
He stated that the institute is preparing to build bridges with ISRO and futuristic technologies with DRDO in areas like as unmanned and robotic technologies, cognitive technologies, and secure systems.
"We also intend to advance in fields such as precision agriculture, energy storage systems, hardware security, hydrogen storage, quantum communication, additive manufacturing, 3D printing, and composite manufacturing," Tewari explained.
IIT Kharagpur is a public technological institute founded by the Government of India in Kharagpur, West Bengal, India. The institute was the first of the IITs to be created, and it is recognized as an Institute of National Importance. The Government of India designated it as an Institution of Eminence in 2019.
