The directorate of extension education of Punjab Agricultural University, popularly known as PAU has invited applications from farmers for the upcoming Innovative Farmer Awards 2020. The awards would be given to the progressive & outstanding farmers for excellence in farming, horticulture & allied activities at PAU Kisan Mela to be held in March 2020.
Giving more details, Director of Extension Education, JS Mahal said that ‘Chief Minister Award in Agriculture’, carrying a cash prize of Rs. 25,000 along with a plaque & citation would be bestowed on the self-cultivating grower of field crops in Punjab.
Mahal said that three ‘CRI Pumps Awards’ would be awarded to self-cultivating farmers for adopting enhanced water management technologies, farm mechanization in agriculture & organic farming. In addition to this, all awards carry a cash prize worth Rs. 10,000 each and a plaque & citation.
He added that besides these awards, ‘Sardarni Parkash Kaur Sra Memorial Award’ with a cash prize of Rs. 5,000 along with a plaque & citation would be given to a self-cultivating progressive farmer or a farm woman in agriculture or horticulture or floriculture & allied agriculture enterprises.
Mahal further told that the application forms for the awards can be collected from Deputy Directors (training) of Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVK), Directors of regional stations, district extension specialists, Chief Agriculture Officers, deputy directors of horticulture in different districts & PAU directorate of extension education.
