President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind during his two-day visit to Myanmar launched a mobile app for the farmers there. Kovind also dedicated a centre to endorse and promote agriculture research and education to the people of Myanmar.
President was in Myanmar to maintain India's high level mutual engagements under the caption of the 'Act East Policy' as well as the 'Neighbourhood First Policy'.
Raveesh Kumar, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson told that the Indian President launched the mobile app on Agritech and he dedicated the Advanced Centre for Agricultural Research and Education (ACARE) located at Yezin Agricultural University to the people there.
A project assisted by the Indian government known as ACARE focuses on genetics, post harvest technology, participatory knowledge management and capacity building for Myanmar farmers, said Kumar.
He added that President also dedicated the Rice Bio Park in Yezin Agricultural University to the people of Myanmar that was established under the guidance of M S Swaminathan Research Foundation.
