Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Governor Ganeshi Lal received the President at the airport. Droupadi Murmu was accorded a guard of honor by the Odisha government on her arrival.
Tight security arrangements have been made from Biju Patnaik International Airport to Raj Bhavan and at various places in city. The police have also made elaborate security arrangements for multiple programmes Murmu is scheduled to attend. The visit will officially come to an end on Friday, i.e. November 11.

According to the official information received till now, after reaching Odisha, she will first pay a visit to the renowned Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri and offer her prayers to Lord Jagannath.
Then, President will pay tributes by garlanding the statues of prominent freedom fighters and leaders including Gopabandhu Das. She will also attend a civic reception at Raj Bhavan in the afternoon.
After a night's rest at Bhubaneshwar Raj Bhavan, President Murmu is scheduled to visit the Tapoban High School, Government Girls High School Unit-II and Kuntala Kumari Sabat Adivasi Girls Hostel Unit-II in Bhubaneswar and interact with students and teachers.
It is worth mentioning that President Murmu studied in the Government Girls' High School from 8th to 12th standard. The schools and the hostel have been revamped ahead of her visit.
She will also launch various Union Ministry of Education projects from Jayadev Bhawan, Bhubaneswar. Post this, she will return to New Delhi on Friday evening.
Security Beefed Up
In view of the President's visit to the eastern state, tight security arrangements have been made in Bhubaneswar as well as Puri. In the capital Bhubaneswar, security measures have been made as per the Blue Book.
55 Platoon Force has been deployed from the from the airport to the Raj Bhavan. If reports are to be believed, 300 senior police officials have been deployed for President's security.
A half-day holiday has been declared in all schools, colleges, and offices across the capital city by the state government. As per a notification issued by the revenue and disaster management department, all the educational institutes and government offices will be closed post 1 pm today.
