A benefit of Rs 1.30 lakh is given
The account user receives a total benefit of Rs1.30 lakh while opening an account under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana. This also includes accident insurance. The account holder receives accident insurance for Rs.1,00,000 and general insurance worth Rs.30,000. In such a case, if the account holder is involved in an accident, Rs.30,000 is given. If the account holder dies in this accident, he or she will receive one lakh rupees, for a total benefit of Rs 1.30 lakh.
How to open an account under this scheme:
Under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, more accounts are opened in public sector banks. But, if you want, you can also open your Jan Dhan account in any private bank. If you have any other savings account then you can convert it to a Jan Dhan account also. Any citizen residing in India, whose age is 10 years or more, can open a Jan Dhan account.
