The Modi government is providing free gas cylinders under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Scheme keeping in mind the crisis amid the Corona Pandemic. Moreover, the last date for registering in this scheme has extended to 30th September.
According to reports, the duration of this plan was extended by the Center in April to September due to the Corona crisis.
In 2016, this scheme was implemented for three years, whose deadline was ending in April itself. The special focus of this scheme, being run in collaboration with the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas is mainly women.
Only 13 Days Left to Register
According to the plan, if you are from a poor family, you can get this free gas cylinder connection by registering. Now only 13 days remain for this. Under the scheme, the government provides cylinder connections to families living below the poverty line. The real objective of the scheme is to shift families from LPG to cooking, which causes much less pollution than the stove.
Important Documents for PM Ujjwala Yojana
The KYC form has to be submitted to the nearest LPG center. Name, address, Jan Dhan bank account number, Aadhaar number etc. have to be provided along with the form.
Female members of BPL family can apply for this. Moreover, you need to submit passport size photo, BPL card, Aadhaar card, age certificate, name print in BPL list, photo copy of bank passbook and photo copy of ration card.
