The second phase of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana was launched by PM Modi earlier this week. This scheme was introduced in the year 2016 to provide LPG connections to the women from Below Poverty Line (BPL) households. The scheme is operated by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
This time it will be easier to get the benefit of this scheme, as ration card or any other address proof won’t be required for LPG gas connection. And the implementation of the second phase of the scheme has started in the Mahoba district of Uttar Pradesh just two days back.
Changes in PM Ujjwala Scheme
During the first phase of the PM Ujjwala Yojana, along with the free gas connection, beneficiaries were given the financial assistance of Rs. 1600 to purchase the first gas cylinder, also gas stoves were made available in easy instalments. And this time, along with the free gas connection, refilling of gas cylinders will be done for free. And not only this, but the gas stoves will also be made available for free.
How to Get Free Gas Connection?
In the second phase of PM Ujjwala Yojana, a big relief has been given to the migrants. Now, the beneficiaries can get the gas connection without any permanent address proof. Now the beneficiary will only have to give a written declaration about the address. And there won’t be any requirement of ration card or any other address proof.
Online Application Process for Ujjwala Yojana
The application process is very easy. You can apply for the gas connection sitting at home, the only condition is that the applicant must a woman of the age more than 18 years. Here is the complete procedure-

Click on the option ‘online application’ and select the company with which you want to take the gas connection

Then fill some general information and submit

Either you can follow the above-written process, or you can also down the form and print it, and submit it to the nearest gas agency dealer.

About 8 crore beneficiaries have already been benefitted under this scheme in the first phase. And more are about to get the benefit in this second phase.
