Today (24 April 2020), at 11 am on the occasion of the National Panchayati Raj Day 2020, PM Narendra Modi interacted with all the sarpanchs in the country through video conferencing. The tweet from the Prime Minister’s Office said that all the sarpanchs will be joining this interaction from their respective homes at a Common Service Centre (CSC) close to them, so as to follow the social distancing norms of the covid-19 lockdown. They are free to share their views with the Prime Minister.
Interestingly, Panchayati Raj Minister Narendra Singh Tomar was also present on the occasion. While addressing all the sarpanchs, the Prime Minister informed that the Coronavirus pandemic has taught us a lot of things, like how to become self-dependent. He stressed that the time has come that each district, each gram panchayat, & also each village to become self-dependent.

2. Swamitva Scheme
What is PM Swamitva Scheme?
Swamitva Yojana is a Central Government Scheme which will provide an integrated property validation solution for rural India. Under the scheme, the inhabited land will be demarcated in rural areas by using the latest surveying methods like drone technology with collaborated efforts of State Panchayati Raj Department, Ministry of Panchayati Raj, State Revenue Department & the Survey of India.
What are the benefits of PM Swamitva Scheme?
Swamitva Yojana provides integrated property validation solution.
All the rural properties will be nominated.
Rural area or Gramin Kshetra Land will be demarcated by drone technology.
