The Pradhan Mantri National Apprenticeship Mela (PMNAM) will be held on December 12th, 2022, in 197 locations across 25 states and union territories as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision to increase career opportunities for India's youth under the Skill India Mission.

To give local youth a chance to shape their careers through apprenticeship training, several local businesses have been invited to participate in the mela. Several businesses from various industries will participate in the event. Participating businesses will have the chance to network with potential apprentices on a single platform, make immediate hiring decisions, and offer applicants a chance to work for them.

By visiting https://www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in/, people can register for the mela and find the event's closest location. During this apprenticeship mela, candidates who have completed grades 5 through 12 and have skill training certificates, ITI Diploma holders, or graduates may apply. To the respective locations, candidates must bring three copies of their resume, transcripts, photo identification (such as an Aadhaar card or driver's licence), and three passport-size photos.

Registered people are asked to show up at the location with all the necessary paperwork. The candidates will increase their employability after the training session by participating in this fair and obtaining certifications recognized by the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET).

The Secretary of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Atul Kumar Tiwari, gave his opinion on the Pradhan Mantri National Apprenticeship Mela, saying that "India has frequently been compared to other developed economies in terms of apprenticeship opportunities for today's youth. We are doing everything we can to make apprenticeship opportunities available to trainees and students to close this gap.

The potential youth eager to work hard, contribute to our economy, and help shape the future of our country gave us a great response during the apprenticeship mela last month. This program's main goal is to persuade businesses to take on more apprentices while also helping them find the right talent and help them reach their full potential through education and hands-on experience. Along with creating reliable pathways from apprenticeship to higher education, it is crucial to integrate apprenticeship into the educational ecosystem.

By the end of 2022 and 2026, we hope to have increased the number of apprenticeship opportunities in India to 10 lakhs. The nation hosts apprenticeship melas, wherein chosen individuals are given a monthly stipend following government standards for learning new skills. The Skill India Mission has given the apprenticeship model, which is thought to be the most long-lasting method of skill development, a significant boost.

The government wants to train 1 million youth annually through apprenticeship training, and PMNAM is being used as a platform to boost establishment and student participation to accomplish this goal. Additionally, it informs young people about the variety of opportunities offered by participating businesses.
