Launch of Kasi Vishwanath Corridor
“PM Modi will also inaugurate the Kasi Vishwanath corridor on December 13” – said a state official.
In the corridor, a statue of Maratha Queen Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar will also be seen by the devotees. The queen once reconstructed the temple. The entire event will be aired live across the country.
The project is going to cost around Rs 800 crore. It will connect Kashi Vishwanath Temple with the Ganga River. This project is known to be Prime Minister’s dream project and will shorten the time span and will set a direct link between the temple and the Ganga River.
The corridor aims to give a decongested look to the temple area that the historic city struggles for. Multiple constructions such as Temple Chowk, Varanasi city gallery, museum, multipurpose auditoriums, hall, devotee facilitation center, public convenience, among others have been constructed.
