Prime Minister Modi received invitations from esteemed leaders such as H.E. Kevin McCarthy, Speaker of the US House of Representatives; H.E. Charles Schumer, Senate Majority Leader; H.E.Mitch McCon nell, Senate Republican Leader; and H.E. Hakeem Jeffries, House Democratic Leader. Additionally, H.E. Kamala Harris, Vice President of the USA, was present for the occasion.

Upon reaching Capitol Hill, the Prime Minister was warmly welcomed by the Congressional Leaders in a formal ceremony. Subsequently, he held separate meetings with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and the Congressional Leaders to discuss matters of mutual interest.
During his speech, the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude for the unwavering bipartisan support in the US Congress, which has played a pivotal role in strengthening India-US relations.
The Prime Minister highlighted the remarkable progress achieved in the bilateral ties between India and the United States while sharing his vision for further enhancing this partnership. He emphasized the substantial advancements made by India and the immense opportunities it offers to the global community.
In honour of the Prime Minister, Speaker McCarthy hosted a reception, marking his second address to the Joint Sitting of the US Congress. The Prime Minister had previously addressed the US Congress during his official visit to the USA in September 2016.
