In a virtual meeting today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged with beneficiaries of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY), a nationwide initiative aimed at ensuring the widespread success of government flagship schemes. The interaction shed light on the inspiring journey of Alpeshbhai Chandubhai Nizama, an ITI-certified farmer and diploma holder in hardware engineering from Bharuch, Gujarat.
During the conversation, the Prime Minister inquired about Alpeshbhai's decision to transition from a hardware engineering job to farming on his ancestral 40-acre land. Alpeshbhai shared that he took advantage of both state and central government schemes, allowing him to acquire farming equipment at subsidized rates. Notably, he also availed a substantial Rs 3 lakh subsidy for implementing drip irrigation techniques on his farm.
Impressed by Alpeshbhai's success, Prime Minister Modi expressed satisfaction with the effective utilization of subsidies and encouraged him to share his knowledge of modern farming techniques and equipment with fellow farmers.
Alpeshbhai highlighted his involvement with Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) projects since 2008, where he gained insights into farming practices from different regions and states. He proudly mentioned receiving the 'Best Farmer Award' from ATMA in the Prime Minister's presence in Bharuch.
The virtual interaction took a heartwarming turn as the Prime Minister noticed Alpeshbhai's daughter in the background, leading to an exchange and a collective chant of 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' that resonated with the entire audience, bringing joy to the Prime Minister.
Closing the session, Prime Minister Modi commended individuals like Alpeshbhai, considering them an inspiration for the youth turning to agriculture. He assured farmers of a supportive environment from farm to market, emphasizing the importance of modernized techniques, innovation, and new thinking.
Prime Minister Modi also encouraged the adoption of drone technology in agriculture and urged farmers to prepare for a grand welcome of the 'Modi Ki Guarantee' vehicle in the next five villages.
