India's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, is set to embark on a two-day visit to Rajasthan and Gujarat on July 27th and 28th, 2023, during which he will inaugurate several significant development projects aimed at fostering the nation's growth and welfare.
On the first day of his visit, Prime Minister Modi will begin in Sikar, Rajasthan, where he will lay the foundation stone and dedicate various development projects to the nation in a public program. A notable highlight of the event will be the dedication of 1.25 lakh PM Kisan Samriddhi Kendras (PMKSKs) to the nation, intended to provide comprehensive support and solutions to farmers. These centers will offer essential information on agricultural inputs like fertilizers, seeds, and implements, as well as testing facilities for soil, seeds, and fertilizers. Additionally, farmers will receive crucial details on various government schemes, ensuring they have access to necessary resources.
During the program, the Prime Minister will also introduce a revolutionary agricultural initiative called "Urea Gold." This new variety of urea, coated with sulphur, promises to address soil sulphur deficiencies effectively. Urea Gold is not only more cost-effective and efficient than neem-coated urea but also improves nitrogen use efficiency in crops while reducing overall fertilizer consumption and enhancing crop quality.
In another pivotal step for the agricultural sector, Prime Minister Modi will launch the onboarding of 1500 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) on the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC). This strategic move will empower FPOs with direct access to digital marketing and online payment systems, fostering business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer transactions. The initiative will also promote local value addition and catalyze the growth of logistics in rural areas.
As part of the Prime Minister's commitment to farmer welfare, over 8.5 crore beneficiaries will receive the 14th installment of approximately Rs. 17,000 crores under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme through direct benefit transfers.
Rajasthan will witness a significant boost in its healthcare infrastructure, with Prime Minister Modi inaugurating five new medical colleges in Chittorgarh, Dholpur, Sirohi, Sikar, and Sri Ganganagar. Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for seven more medical colleges in Baran, Bundi, Karauli, Jhunjhunu, Sawai Madhopur, Jaisalmer, and Tonk. These medical colleges are being established under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme for the establishment of new medical colleges attached to existing district/referral hospitals. The development of these institutions will significantly increase the number of MBBS seats in the state, promoting greater access to medical education for aspiring students.
In an effort to uplift the tribal population residing in specific districts, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate six Eklavya Model Residential Schools in Udaipur, Banswara, Partapgarh, and Dungarpur. These schools aim to provide quality education and a conducive learning environment for tribal children.
Concluding the eventful day, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate Kendriya Vidyalaya Tivri in Jodhpur, further bolstering the education infrastructure in the region.
On the second day of his visit, July 28th, 2023, the Prime Minister will proceed to Gandhinagar, Gujarat, to inaugurate SemiconIndia 2023 at Mahatma Mandir, promoting technological advancements and innovation in the semiconductor industry.
