PM-KISAN 21st Installment 2025: Central government has begun rolling out the 21st installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, with targeted transfers already reaching farmers in several states. The scheme, which provides eligible small and marginal land-owning farmers Rs 6,000 a year in three equal installment s of Rs 2,000 each. The funds are being released state by state, with priority given to flood-hit or specially affected areas.

PM Kisan 21st Installment : Who has received money so far

The government has already begun disbursing the 21st installment of the PM-KISAN scheme, with payments credited to beneficiaries in select regions rather than through a single nationwide release. For instance, on October 7, 2025, over Rs 171 crore was transferred to around 8.5 lakh farmers in Jammu & Kashmir.
Similar state-level releases were made in Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh, with Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announcing early payments to provide timely relief to farmers affected by recent floods and landslides.

Will the PM Kisan 21st Installment reach all farmers before Diwali?

Multiple news outlets have indicated that the government is aiming to complete the 21st installment disbursal before Diwali 2025, so farmers may receive timely support ahead of the festival and the winter sowing season. However, there is no official confirmation. The schedule is staggered and depends on state-level verification, completion of e-KYC and Aadhaar-bank link checks, and district-level clearances, which means some beneficiaries may receive the amount earlier than others. For official updates, farmers are advised to check the PM-KISAN portal and verified government communications.

Why some farmers may not get the 21st installment immediately

There are recurring reasons why eligible farmers sometimes miss a scheduled installment :

  • Incomplete e-KYC or Aadhaar-bank linking, payments require up-to-date Aadhaar and bank details.

  • Name/land record mismatches, discrepancies between land records and records on the PM-KISAN portal delay transfers.

  • Expired or incorrect bank account details, if the account does not accept DBT, the payment is held.

  • Ineligible categories or verification pending, certain institutional landowners, large landholders or state-declared ineligible records are filtered out during reconciliation.

Authorities have repeatedly asked beneficiaries to complete e-KYC, update bank details and resolve discrepancies with their local agriculture/land records office to ensure timely credit.

How farmers can check status and ensure they receive the money

Farmers can check beneficiary status and payment history on the official PM-KISAN website (pmkisan.gov.in). The portal allows users to view the beneficiary list, payment status, and instructions for e-KYC. District agriculture offices and the Common Service Centres (CSCs) can help farmers complete Aadhaar seeding and e-KYC if they face difficulties online. If a payment is pending despite eligibility, beneficiaries are advised to approach the local revenue or agriculture office with land documents and bank passbook copies.

The 21st PM-KISAN installment has begun reaching farmers in phases, with state-wise early disbursals already completed in some areas and the government signalling an intention to finish the rollout ahead of Diwali 2025. Farmers who have not yet received the Rs 2,000 should prioritise e-KYC and Aadhaar-bank linkage checks and verify their details on the PM-KISAN portal to avoid delays. For the latest announcements, always refer to the PM-KISAN website and verified government channels.
