PM-KISAN 20th Instalment 2025: Big relief is on the way for millions of Indian farmers. The government has officially confirmed that the 20th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana will be released on August 2, 2025, at 11 AM in Banoli, Sevapuri, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. On this day, Rs 2,000 will be directly transferred into the bank accounts of eligible farmers under the scheme.
The confirmation was shared via official PM-KISAN handle on X (formerly Twitter) and later announced by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, putting an end to weeks of speculation. With the Kharif season in progress, this instalment is expected to provide timely support to farmers across the country. However, not every farmer will receive the payment unless they have completed the required formalities.
What Is PM-KISAN?
Launched in February 2019, PM-KISAN Yojana provides financial assistance of Rs 6,000 per year to eligible landholding farmers in three equal installments of Rs 2,000. This money is directly credited to the farmer’s bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), ensuring transparency and timely support.
To date, the scheme has benefited over 11 crore farmers across India and is considered one of the biggest welfare initiatives for the agriculture sector.
PM Kisan 20th Instalment 2025:
The 20th instalment of PM-KISAN scheme is set to be released on August 2, 2025, and will benefit approximately 9.7 crore farmers across the country. During this phase, government will transfer Rs 20,500 crore directly into the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries. The previous instalment, the 19th, was released on February 24, 2025. With this upcoming payment, the total amount disbursed under the scheme since its launch in 2019 will reach Rs 3.69 lakh crore.
Why Some Farmers May Not Receive the Rs 2,000 Payment
There are several reasons why some eligible farmers may miss out on receiving the PM-KISAN instalment:
-
Incomplete e-KYC – This is mandatory for all beneficiaries.
-
Aadhaar not linked with the bank account – Without this, payments cannot be processed.
-
Incorrect bank account or IFSC details – Even small errors can delay or block the transfer.
-
Mismatch or errors in land records – Only verified landholding farmers are eligible.
-
Duplicate or ineligible applications – Any discrepancies may lead to disqualification.
These issues can result in automatic exclusion from the beneficiary list, even if the farmer qualified in previous instalments.
