PM-KISAN 20th Instalment 2025: As July begins, anticipation is high among lakhs of Indian farmers awaiting the 20th instalment of the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi Yojana, which is now expected to be released in July 2025. Under this central government scheme, eligible landholding farmers receive Rs 6,000 annually, distributed in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 each through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

The 19th instalment was credited on February 24, 2025, and based on the scheme’s regular cycle, the next payment was initially expected in June. However, with that window having passed, recent media reports suggest that the 20th instalment is now likely to be credited on or around July 18, 2025.

What Is the PM-KISAN Scheme?

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, launched in 2019, provides financial assistance to small and marginal farmers to support agricultural expenses. The money is transferred directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), ensuring transparency and avoiding middlemen. So far, over 11 crore farmers have been registered under the scheme.

PM Kisan 20th Instalment Date

According to multiple media reports, 20th instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme is likely to be released on or around July 18, 2025. Although there is no official government confirmation yet, both state and central departments are reportedly preparing for a mid-July disbursal.

On the same day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to address a major public gathering in Motihari, Bihar, and it is being speculated that the Rs 2,000 instalment may be credited to farmers' bank accounts during this event.

In previous cycles as well, PM Modi has launched PM-KISAN instalments during significant public programs. This time, the delay in payment is believed to be due to his foreign tour from July 2 to July 9. Now that he has returned, and with a high-profile rally scheduled, July 18 is emerging as the most likely date for the release.

Farmers who have completed all the required steps, especially e-KYC and Aadhaar-bank account linking, are expected to receive the installment directly into their bank accounts. However, farmers who haven’t completed these formalities may face delays or may not receive the Rs 2,000 payment at all.

Mandatory Steps to Secure Your PM-KISAN Benefits

The government has made it clear: no e-KYC, no instalment. Along with e-KYC, there are a few more steps every beneficiary must complete to avoid payment delays. These are also emphasized in the latest awareness campaign by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare.

Here are the top steps you must follow to secure your Rs 2,000 payment:

1. Complete e-KYC

  • e-KYC is mandatory and can be done online at pmkisan.gov.in via OTP or face authentication through the PM-KISAN mobile app.

  • Alternatively, visit your nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) for biometric e-KYC.

2. Ensure Aadhaar Linking with Bank Account

  • Your Aadhaar must be linked to your bank account. If not, the instalment will not be credited.

3. Verify Bank Account Details

  • Incorrect account numbers or IFSC codes can block your payment. Double-check your details.

4. Resolve Land Records Issues

  • Only farmers with updated and verified land ownership records are eligible.

  • Visit your local tehsil or revenue office to fix discrepancies.

5. Check Beneficiary Status

  • Visit the PM-KISAN portal and check your name under Beneficiary Status using Aadhaar or account number.

6. Update Mobile Number

  • Make sure your mobile number is linked to your Aadhaar and is active.

  • It’s used for receiving OTPs and payment alerts.
