PM-KISAN 20th Installment: Farmers across India are eagerly waiting for the 20th installment of the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi Yojana, a financial support scheme that provides Rs 6,000 annually to eligible landholding farmers in three equal installments. While the payment was initially expected by the end of June 2025, there has been a noticeable delay, leaving millions of farmers anxious about when the RS 2,000 will be credited to their accounts.
Now, it has been officially confirmed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Motihari in Bihar today, July 18, 2025, to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for several development projects worth over Rs 7,100 crore. These include key initiatives in railways, roads, IT parks, and more. During this visit, there is strong speculation that the Prime Minister may also announce the release of the much-awaited 20th installment of the PM-KISAN scheme.
Though there is no official confirmation yet regarding the installment release, the timing of the event has added to farmers’ expectations. In the past, PM Modi has personally announced major PM-KISAN payments during large public programs, and this visit to Bihar may follow the same trend.
Interestingly, the PM-KISAN scheme shares a historical connection with Bihar. When the scheme was first launched in 2019, it was Bhagalpur, Bihar, that received the first installment under this initiative. On that day, over ₹22,000 crore was directly transferred to the bank accounts of more than 9 crore farmers across the country.
With Bihar heading into assembly elections soon, and PM Modi visiting the state with a major event planned, the political and economic timing seems aligned for a possible announcement.
