This national mission was established to guarantee that individuals have simple access to financial services such as banks, remittance services, loans, insurance, and pensions. Manisha Sen Sharma, Economic Adviser, Department of Economic Affairs, stated in an ASSOCHAM program that the PM Jan Dhan Yojana has been a huge success since its beginning. He stated that up to October 2021, around 44 crore beneficiaries have been linked with banks, and the government has been successful in obtaining money deposited in their bank accounts from the impoverished portion of the people through this scheme.
Benefits of Jan Dhan Account
In contrast to conventional savings accounts, no deposit is required while creating a Jan Dhan account. Along with the account, the user receives a RuPay Debit Card, which is loaded with several features. All of the features that are available on the rest of the savings accounts are available on this account. With a debit card, life insurance and 'purchase protection benefits' mean that if the card is stolen or there is any fraud in the transaction, the government will provide assured protection.
