According to the report, the Ministry of Education has also developed a special website called "Prime Minister National Laptop Scheme 2022" to distribute laptops. The money for these laptops will be credited to the student's bank accounts throughout the course of the academic year 2022–2023 in one cash payment.
This assertion has been refuted by the PIB fact-checker, who has also said that pmssgovt.online is a fake website.
According to the fake website, all students in grades XI, XII, B.A. 1st, B.A. 2nd, B.A. 3rd, B.A. 4th, B.A. 5th, and B.A. 6th semester are eligible for free laptops. PIB slammed the fake website and scheme on Twitter.
"According to a website called "http://pmssgovt.online," the "Prime Minister National Laptop Scheme 2022" promises to provide free laptops to Class XI-graduate students. The webpage is a fraud. There are no such programs being operated by the Indian government "PIB tweeted.
