OUAT Agri-Edu Fair 2023: Cultivating Agricultural Awareness for a Sustainable Tomorrow
The second day of the three-day event OUAT Agri-Edu Fair 2023 witnesses enthusiastic engagement from students, industry mavens, and agricultural enthusiasts.
The Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) has been hosting a three-day 'Agri-Edu Fair 2023' from December 20-22, in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
Organised by the second-largest prestigious university in the country, this fair aims to enhance agricultural education and awareness among students, farmers, and other community stakeholders. It serves as a hub for industry experts to exchange insights and innovations in sustainable agricultural practices.
According to the Directorate of Horticulture, Odisha is an agrarian state with nearly 70 percent of its population dependent on agriculture, and fairly to say so, this fair truly resonates with that statistic. So far, it has been a bustling hub, witnessing active participation from students, farmers, industry giants, and community stakeholders from various corners of the state.
The fair had in attendance OUAT Vice-Chancellor Professor Pravat Kumar Raul, Dean Extension Education PJ Mishra, Professor SK Swain Dean of Research, Ashok Chandra Panda, State Cabinet Minister, Ministry of Science and Technology, and Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Rohit K Lenka from Directorate of Horticulture.
A meticulously planned program was conducted to introduce young students to the prospects of the agriculture industry in the country.
The fair also facilitated collaboration between Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) across the region to share expertise on traditional and modern agricultural trends and practices. Several Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) received accolades and honors for their crucial role in improving agricultural practices, rightfully acknowledging their dedication and innovation.
Featuring a wide array of events, including seminars, workshops, and exhibitions, the fair serves as a comprehensive showcase for advancements in agriculture and its related sectors. Distinguished agricultural universities, research institutions, and industry leaders gathered to share their wealth of experience and knowledge with enthusiastic attendees.
