On Friday, the GCD High School in Rayagada, Odisha, inaugurated the District Level Krushi Mahotsav and Farm Machinery Mela. Thousands of people attended the event from across the state.
Several notable personalities from all around Odisha took part in the event's official opening. With Krishi Jagran as its media partner, the mela, which was organized by the government of Odisha, functioned as a forum to bring together farmers, agricultural professionals, and agri-industrialists.
On day 2 of the event, various dignitaries including Srijupto Somnath Pradhan, ADM Rayagada, and Ram Charan Das, Chief District Agriculture Officer were among the attendees.
A panel discussion was also held at the event on the subject 'Dairy enterprise to double farmers' income', moderated by Dr. Hadibandhu Bhoi, CDVO, Rayagada. The panelists included Dr. Sarada Prasanna Sahoo, Director, CCBF, Chipilima, and Dr Arun Kumar Panda among others.
The 4-day event is being organized from February 3-6, with the state government emphasizing it to be a golden opportunity for farmers and people associated with the agri sector.
According to a formal statement, the Rayagada administration and the Odisha government together arrange a number of events, fairs, and training programmes in the area for the comprehensive development of the agricultural sector.
The state's farmers now have easy access to modern agricultural equipment, seeds, fertilizers, and procedures as a result of the ongoing efforts of the Odisha government, it added.
Educating farmers about the newest tools, machinery, and equipment on the market is another goal of the Krushi Mahotsav and Farm Machinery Mela.
The farmers who attend the expo will also be able to purchase agricultural equipment at a reduced cost.
Leading distributors and manufacturers of agricultural machineries, like Mahindra and Sonalika tractors, have also set up shop at the Farm Machinery Mela.
While thousands of farmers from all around Odisha turned out for the Krushi Mahotsav's opening ceremony, and the number is anticipated to rise over the upcoming weekend.
