Nursery admission for the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Children With Disabilities (CWD) and Disadvantage Group (DG) in private schools starts today (15th January), the Directorate of Education (DoE) said.
The DoE informed that admission will be done through a computerized lottery system, against 25 percent seats reserved under the provisions of Right to Education Act 2009. And no school will be permitted to admit any kid offline in entry-level classes. DoE added that 3 percent seats will be reserved for CWD, under EWS/DG category.
It also informed that the last date for submitting online application forms is Monday.
DoE said that private schools either recognised or provisionally recognised up to Class V by East body and North body have also been incorporated in the computerized online admission process for EWS/DG category admissions.
Eligibility Criteria
According to DoE, any person residing in Delhi, with a proper residence proof and necessary income certificate (less than Rs.1 lakh annually) issued by the Revenue Department and BPL/ AAY (ration card/food security card holder) are allowed to apply in these private schools for admission of their kids under the EWS category.
It mentioned, “The condition of minimum residency period of 3 years in Delhi for admission under EWS/DG has been waived. Children under CWD should have disability certificates issued by a government hospital”.
The eligible age limit for admission in entry-level classes as on 31st March 2019 is:

3 to 5 years for the pre-school /nursery.

4 to 6 years for pre-primary/KG.

5 to 7 years Class I.
The date of the first computerized selection for CWD category applicants is 21st February while for EWS/DG category applicants is 27th February.
