The Northern Region Farm Machinery Training & Testing Institute (NRFMTTI) in Hisar, Haryana, has secured approval for the CMVR (Central Motor Vehicle Rules) testing of agricultural tractors. In addition, the institute has been accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) to carry out CMVR testing of both agricultural tractors and combine harvesters.

This development establishes NRFMTTI as an officially approved agency for CMVR testing, placing it among a select group of institutions in India with this capability. This recognition not only enhances the institute's role in training and testing agricultural machinery but also offers substantial benefits to manufacturers, particularly those located in Northern India.

Tractor manufacturers now have access to a nearby, fully certified facility for CMVR compliance testing, which reduces logistical challenges and saves both time and costs.

The NABL accreditation further boosts the institute’s credibility by ensuring that its testing procedures adhere to international standards. Consequently, the results and certifications provided by NRFMTTI will be more widely accepted, both within India and globally.

For manufacturers, this creates additional opportunities in domestic and international markets, as NABL-accredited certification is often required for exports.
