
Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has invited applications for its prestigious Netaji Subhas-ICAR International Fellowship (NS-ICAR IF) 2025. The fellowship is aimed at strengthening global agricultural research capacity by offering PhD opportunities to Indian students in top international institutions and foreign students in leading Indian agricultural universities. These fellowships are available for pursuing doctoral degrees in Agriculture and Allied Sciences, specifically in ICAR-identified priority areas.
ICAR has announced that 30 fellowships will be awarded this year for a maximum duration of three years, as part of its vision to develop world-class human resources in frontier areas of agricultural research and innovation.
Who Can Apply?
The fellowship is open to:

Indian nationals who wish to pursue a PhD in internationally recognised agricultural institutions abroad.

Foreign nationals who wish to enrol for a PhD program at India’s top ICAR-affiliated Agricultural Universities.
Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in agriculture or allied sciences, and fresh candidates should be below 35 years of age as of the last date of application. In-service candidates from ICAR or Agricultural Universities are eligible up to 40 years.
To qualify, candidates must also align their research proposals with the priority areas specified by ICAR, which are listed in a separate document available on ICAR’s official website.
