Union Minister of Ayush and Shipping, Port Waterways Sarbanand Sonowal emphasized the rich legacy of Indian Traditional Medicine Systems during the National Arogya Fair. The event, organized by 'Shri Puran Chandra Gupta Smarak Trust' in collaboration with the Ministry of Ayush, is set to run from February 1 to February 4, 2024, at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. ‘Har din Har Ghar Ayush’ Campaign
Sonowal highlighted the significance of the National Arogya Fair in contributing to the advancement of the Ayush sector. He reiterated the essence of the 'Har din Har Ghar Ayush' campaign, designed to impart the benefits of Indian traditional medicine systems to the people. The Minister shared encouraging statistics, stating that out of the targeted 12,500 Ayush Health and Wellness Centres, over 9,000 have already been established within a little over nine years since the establishment of the Ministry of Ayush.
Ayush Flourishes: A Tree of Diverse Medical Systems
Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, likened Ayush to a flourishing tree under which various medical systems thrive. Speaking about the National Ayush Mission, he emphasized ongoing efforts to take Ayush to every district in the country. Kotecha highlighted advancements in research, with over forty thousand research publications in the Ayush Research Portal. Notably, he expressed satisfaction over the establishment of the Global Centre for Traditional Medicine in Jamnagar, Gujarat, by the World Health Organization.
