The Environmental Pollution Control Authority (EPCA) said that the photographs of NASA have been shown in red color in Delhi-NCR's areas like Gurugram, Narela, Najafgarh and Bawana. The satellite from NASA has checked the pollution levels which has shown considerable rise suddenly on October 1 in Delhi. Pollution levels have gone up in the last three days.
US space agency NASA's satellite got information about burning garbage, plastic and parala in Delhi and surrounding areas. As the level of pollution is increasing the government has banned the activity. Still it’s the matter of concern when the given level of pollution was found increased. In such a situation the anxiety of environment monitoring agencies has increased. On Friday, the level of pollution in Bawana, Narela, Mundka, Anand Vihar, Ghaziabad and Gurgaon were quite poor. The Air Quality Index was 209 in Delhi on Saturday.
Concerned with the problem the Supreme Court appointed Environmental Pollution Control Authority (EPCA) has directed Delhi pollution control committee and other government agencies to keep a vigil on the problem. Regarding the same, NASA satellites have picked up several red dots in Delhi NCR, in areas such as Narela, Najafgarh, Bawana and Gurugram. These red dots cannot be the incidents of stubble burning as it has already been banned and agriculture is not practiced in these areas. These dots then indicate burning of plastic and garbage in the open area.
As explained by the authorities these red dots will appear only if the fire is burning for more than half an hour in big level and release smoke in order to be detected by the satellite. The reason behind detection of burning of garbage in these areas. It cannot detect the burning of matchstick or stove fire which is of small level. This continuous burning of plastic and garbage in these regions has greatly affected air quality again and pollution in air has reached the threshold level.
Regarding the above issue EPCA has declared that they need more manpower to control the situation on ground level which can monitor the condition and stop the wrong practices going on in these areas, hampering the health of general public.
