In an effort to amplify awareness and ensure the widespread success of various welfare initiatives launched by the Central Government, Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra campaigns are currently underway across the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the yatra on November 15th during Janjatiya Gaurav Divas in Khunti, Jharkhand, setting the stage for an extensive outreach program.
The overarching objective of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is to saturate all gram panchayats and urban local bodies with information about government schemes. Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) vans are being utilized to reach every nook and cranny, ensuring that the benefits of these programs are accessible to all eligible beneficiaries.
Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar is actively overseeing the day-to-day operations of the yatra to ensure its seamless execution. Regular updates on the progress are obtained through meetings and virtual conferences with nodal officers and other high-ranking officials from different states.
Tomar expressed the government's commitment to covering over 2.6 lakh Gram Panchayats and other areas by January 26th through the Yatra. Recent meetings with officials from Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Daman-Diu, Lakshadweep, and Andaman and Nicobar focused on the imperative of reaching eligible beneficiaries and making these schemes accessible to the common populace.
Highlighting Prime Minister Modi's vision of transforming India into a developed nation by 2047, Minister Tomar emphasized the need for collective efforts to realize this ambitious goal. He underscored the importance of connecting every section of society with the vision of a developed India, fostering development, and empowerment.
The Yatra has made substantial progress, currently active in 26 states/UTs. Over 30,000 Gram Panchayats have been covered, witnessing the participation of approximately 80 lakh people who pledged to contribute to the development of India. Digitally-enabled IEC vans are playing a pivotal role, touring extensively to raise awareness about rural and tribal schemes.
These vans are also actively promoting urban schemes in urban areas, conducting various activities such as general health camps, TB screening, and sickle cell screening camps. Enrolment drives for initiatives like PM Ujjwala, My Bharat volunteer registration, and distribution of Ayushman cards are running concurrently with the programs.
