NAFCARD to Host National Conference of ARDBs-2022 Tomorrow

In the cooperative sector, there is enormous potential for development and empowerment of farmers, agriculture, and rural areas of the country. That is why, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, the Union government is empowering the cooperative sector with the mantra 'Sahakar Se Samriddhi.'

National Cooperative Agriculture and Rural Development Banks' Federation Ltd. (NAFCARD) will host the National Conference of ARDBs - 2022 tomorrow at New Delhi's NCUI Auditorium. Amit Shah, Union Minister of Home Affairs and Cooperation will be the Chief Guest. As part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration, this Conference concludes the sectoral programmes of ARDBs, including the public contact programme at the ground level.

The Union Government established the Ministry of Cooperation in July 2021 to provide proper impetus to the cooperative sector under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Amit Shah was appointed to head the newly established Ministry of Cooperation.

In the cooperative sector, there is enormous potential for the development and empowerment of farmers, agriculture, and rural areas of the country. That is why, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, the Union government is empowering the cooperative sector with the mantra 'Sahakar Se Samriddhi.'

On the occasion, the Federation will also hold an Award Function to recognize SCARDBs in Kerala, Karnataka, Gujarat, and West Bengal for outstanding performance in lending, recovery, and improvement in other performance parameters during 2020-21.

Awards will also be given to the country's four oldest ARDBs for their unwavering service to the rural sector over the past 90 years. The Conference's Technical Session will deliberate on the Roadmap for the Revival of Agricultural Rural Development Banks (ARDBs) and finalize recommendations for submission to the Government.

The Conference will also be attended by the Union Minister of State for Cooperation and Development of the North-East Region, B.L. Verma, Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, President, NCUI, and Chairman, IFFCO Dileep Sanghani, President, International Cooperative Alliance- Asia-Pacific Region, and Chairman, KRIBHCO Dr. Chandra Pal Singh Yadav.

Representatives of Cooperative Agriculture and Rural Development Banks from across the country, as well as representatives from the government, NABARD, and other National Federations, will also attend the Conference. The National Cooperative Agriculture and Banks Federation, headquartered in Mumbai, is the country's apex body for State Cooperative Agriculture and Rural Development Banks.
