Delhi government on Tuesday approved doorstep delivery of ration to the residents of Delhi. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal declared it as a 'Revolutionary' move and named this scheme as "Mukhya Mantri Ghar Ghar Ration Yojna".
Delhi Cabinet has approved the doorstep delivery of ration, expected to be launched in coming 6-7 months and will be linked to Centre's 'one nation, one ration card' scheme, said Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. This scheme will allow the people to get their ration without going out amid the coronavirus pandemic, he added.
Under the plan, wheat, flour, rice, and sugar-packed hygienically in bags will be delivered safely to the doorstep of residents. Taking ration from a PDS shop will be optional," he said in a virtual press brief.
With the implementation of the doorstep delivery of ration, the Center's "One Nation One Ration Card" plan will also come into effect in Delhi, However, the beneficiaries will be asked whether they want to take the ration from the PDS shops or want it delivered at their homes, he said.”
