Monsoon 2020: Delhi Will Experience Monsoon Sooner Than Expected: June 22-24

Delhiites were experiencing hot temperature, past two weeks. However, the monsoon is now likely to reach the national capital three or four days before the prediction on 27 June, said the Indian Meteorological Department on Wednesday, as a sign of relief for the city. The cyclonic circulation over West Bengal and the neighbourhood will be moving towards southwest Uttar Pradesh by June 19 and June 20, said Kuldeep Srivastava, head of the regional forecast centre of IMD.

The cyclonic circulation over West Bengal and the neighbourhood will be moving towards southwest Uttar Pradesh by June 19 and June 20, said Kuldeep Srivastava, head of the regional forecast centre of IMD.

"It will help in further advancement of the monsoon in west Uttar Pradesh, some parts of Uttarakhand, northeast Rajasthan and eastern Haryana between June 22 and June 24," he added. Delhi will experience dry weather conditions on June 18-19. Capital record temperature of 40C on Wednesday, according to the IMD website.

Cyclonic circulation will lie over north Konkan, over the next few days coastal Karnataka, Konkan region and Goa are expected to experience heavy rainfall. Northeast, eastern and central parts of India will see heavy rains in upcoming 5days according to the IMD.

“Isolated to scattered rainfall with isolated thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds very likely over Western Himalayan Region and plains of northwest India during June 19-21,” said the IMD.

Western areas of Rajasthan will experience heat wave conditions in the next 2-3days. Hisar recorded hottest temperature of 43.2 C in Haryana.
