Monika Mohite, Farmer & Founder of ‘Paarakhi’, visited Krishi Jagran's office in New Delhi on April 14, 2025. During her address at KJ Chaupal, Mohite emphasized the importance of organic farming using natural resources like cow dung and poultry manure, and encouraged self-reliance among farmers. She also highlighted the need to connect with local family farmers for a healthier lifestyle and better nutrition.
During her address, Monika shared the inspiring story of her journey as a farmer, which began in 2006. She spoke about how she got started, the challenges she faced in getting quality seeds and fertilizers, and her commitment to improving soil fertility using natural resources like cow dung and poultry manure.
“We are very blessed,” she said. “I believe we possess a certain energy that makes it easy for us to nourish life around us — whether it's pets, domestic animals, children, trees, or crops. So, it came very naturally to me to give my children the best.”
That’s how Paarakhi came into existence—a brand name that means 'someone who has an eye for the genuine.' The name is lovingly coined from the first names of her mother-in-law, Parvati, and her daughter, Khyati. “Aai (mother) introduced me to the beautiful world of growing. This is my humble homage to her, and I’ve also incorporated my daughter’s name to carry forward the legacy.”
She emphasized the importance of farmers making their own manure. “We prepare 6–7 kinds of manure right on the farm. All you need is one desi cow to cultivate 5–7 acres of land organically. A desi cow helps regenerate microbes and brings life back to the soil.”
Monika also highlighted the nutritional benefits of consuming natural, unrefined foods like brown rice, whole grains, brown eggs, and brown bread. She encouraged people to connect with at least two local farmers to get their weekly vegetables, saying, "A family farmer takes care of your health by providing fresh, healthy produce. Please do connect with farmers for your good health and a long life."

The insightful session concluded with a group photograph, capturing a memorable moment of collaboration and shared commitment to the future of agriculture.
